Listen now:
On today’s Faculty Development Snippet episode of the Faculty Factory podcast, Donna L. Vogel, MD, PhD, discusses the top ten things faculty ought to take into consideration when applying for funding.
Dr. Vogel held the position of Director, the Professional Development Office, Johns Hopkins University. She was also previously Program Director of the Reproductive Medicine grant portfolio at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
In case you missed it, I introduced this Faculty Factory “snippet” concept on an earlier podcast episode. The snippet episodes aim to deliver faculty development content to all faculty members while on the go.
We are hopeful that with finding time for anything “extra” these days becoming increasingly difficult, faculty can learn from these snippet podcasts while commuting, exercising, etc.
Today’s chat with Dr. Vogel centers around grant writing from this NIH “insider” perspective.
In the opening minutes of today’s episode, Dr. Vogel mentions the NIH guide for grants and contracts and its importance. It features information about what the institutes are interested in funding and other funding opportunities.
There are plenty of more great nuggets of useful information from Dr. Vogel throughout this podcast. I highly recommend listening to the full episode embedded above, or by visiting our Faculty Factory podcast homepage.
