As you’ll learn, Dr. Lucas has recently transitioned into a new role with George Washington which he discusses on the podcast. He also describes how he got involved with faculty affairs.

With a background in faculty governance, Dr. Lucas delves into some valuable stories that we can learn from on today’s episode. We chat about faculty databases, communications and other worthy subjects throughout the chat.

The reputation of an office is a topic of discussion on today’s show too. We discuss why changing the culture is not an easy lift, and why it is so crucial. An office’s reputation can often be changed through relationship building with faculty.

“Looking back, I think the best part of this job in faculty affairs and faculty development is the relationships you make with individual faculty, and the thanks that you get,” Dr. Lucas said.

I highly encourage you to listen to the full episode as we dive into many other important topics including the Center for Faculty Excellence at the George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
