Information overload. We all know about it, but what can we do about it?

In today’s Faculty Factory Podcast with Jose Suarez, MD, FNCS, FANA, we discuss some of the habits and hacks for combatting information overload to the benefit of our patients. We also chat about how concepts of precision medicine can be applied to education, faculty development, and more.

Dr. Suarez serves as Professor and Director of Neurosciences Critical Care in the Departments of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, Neurology, and Neurosurgery with Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore. He is also a Past President of the Neurocritical Care Society (NCS).

“This is one of my passions and I am really excited. I think we are really changing the field; we are changing the way we practice medicine at Hopkins,” Dr. Suarez said.

I enjoyed getting a chance to discuss machine learning and other futuristic topics in medicine with Dr. Suarez. We chatted about the many changes and practices that can benefit the future of patient care in today’s show.

Data integration is not just an issue for the U.S. Space Program, it impacts our intensive care units as well. Dr. Suarez tells a story about working with NASA engineers to improve ICU settings to better serve patients, midway through this episode.
