Gabriela Cantarero, PhD, joins us this week on the Faculty Factory for another fantastic episode of the Habits and Hacks from Hopkins (H3) series.

Dr. Cantarero offers useful advice for staying productive while working from home during the pandemic. At Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore, Dr. Cantarero serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

As a self-proclaimed “gold star achiever,” Dr. Cantarero discusses her habit of “rewarding” herself throughout the day in small, but meaningful ways.

“[The idea of] here’s a task and there’s a reward has always resonated with me,” Dr. Cantarero said.

Of course, the days of teachers awarding gold stars are a thing of the past come adulthood, but Dr. Cantarero has found a unique way to bring this same principle back into her adult life. As you will hear on today’s episode, it has helped with her increased productivity in many ways.

She also offers listeners some great hacks on working from home.
