Listen now to today’s episode:
The importance of changing default behavior to achieve our goals under the tutelage of a coach is discussed on today’s episode of the Faculty Factory Podcast with Rachel J. Bishop, MD, MPH.
Dr. Bishop sheds light on how faculty can benefit and grow under the guidance of an unbiased coach. She also shares valuable insight on what she has learned coaching folks and training as a coach.
With Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore, Dr. Bishop serves as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology in the Wilmer Eye Institute.
“Little steps can lead to big change,” Dr. Bishop told us.
Coaching is not consulting, mentoring or therapy, but there are similarities between these disciplines. While there is a lot of overlap with mentoring in particular, coaching is distinctly different. In this podcast episode, we define coaching as helping a person, or team, accomplish their goal(s).
